Duong Trong Nguyen

Nguyễn Trọng Dương, known by his Dharma name Thiện Huệ, passed away peacefully on Saturday , November 15, 2025, at 7:05 AM, at the age of 78. Born on November 23, 1947, in Bình Long, Vietnam, Mr. Dương dedicated his life to his family and his Buddhist faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Nguyễn Thị Thuỷ Tiên, his children, their spouses, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His surviving family members include his Eldest Son, Nguyễn Trọng Duy Tú (and daughter-in-law Trần Thanh Sammie), and their children Nguyễn Trần Tylynn and Nguyễn Trần Teagan; his Eldest Daughter, Nguyễn Hương Dạ Thảo (and son-in-law Nguyễn Thành Kiên), and their children Nguyễn Thành Khoa (wife Trần Thanh Trúc), Markiewicz Nguyễn Thành Kiểu (husband Markiewicz Gerard Michael Joseph), Nguyễn Thành Khôi (wife Trần Ngọc Phương), and Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Uyên (husband Nguyễn Quốc Minh); and his Youngest Daughter, Nguyễn Thị Diễm Thu (and son-in-law Trần Đông Hồ), and their children Trần Đông Sullivan and Trần Đông Sean. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Nguyễn Kiệt Tuấn Wesley, Nguyễn Thanh Kim Winston, Joseph Michael Gerrard Markiewicz III, Jake Riley Markiewicz, Lucy Jo Markiewicz, Kai Nguyen, Carter Preston Nguyen, Charlotte Paige Nguyen, and Cash Preston Nguyen.

Funeral and viewing services will be held at the Sunshine Chapel at Oak Hill Cemetery, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. The Receiving of Mourners (Lễ Phục Tang) will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM, followed by the Viewing (Lễ Viếng) from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Buddhist Prayer Service (Lễ Tụng Kinh Cầu Siêu) will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The Funeral Procession/Closing of Casket (Lễ Động Quan) will begin at 11:30 AM on the same day. The family kindly requests prayers for the departed to find peace in the Pure Land.
