Resident of Pollock Pines
Went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30th, 2010. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Jeannette Marini, family, and friends when he peacefully left us.
Ernie was born in Greenville, PA on April 17th, 1926. After graduation from Penn High School , he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. In 1957, Ernie and Jeannette moved to San Jose, California. Later they moved to Fremont, California where Ernie became a partner with Gem Construction Company. The next move was to Pollock Pines, California where Ernie built his home and formed a ready-mix cement plant with Arnold Brink– Pollock Pines Ready Mix, followed by a second plant-Folsom Lake Ready Mix. During this same time, Ernie started a trucking company – Brink Marini, Inc. In the late 70s, Ernie sold his successful Folsom Lake plant and continued to operate his trucking company until his retirement in the mid 90s. He and Jeannette spent the remainder of their winters in Florida. Ernie excelled not only in his business endeavors but in his personal life. He will be deeply missed by the following beloved family members and friends, Gloria Marini, Angela Smargiasso, Rebecca Rose, Cornelia Brenneis, Mary Intorre, Lee, John and Vincent Marini, and his special friends, Sam, Peggy, and Jeff Simpkin.
A Service will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7th at 12 noon in Chapel of the Oaks with visitation on Monday, September 6th from 1 pm to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ernie’s name to Samaritan Purse, Boone, North Carolina.
