George Marinovich

George Marinovich passed away peacefully at his home in San Jose, California, on April 20, 2026, at the age of 92. He was surrounded by his loving family—his devoted wife of 36 years, Stane; his daughter, Marie; and his son-in-law, Michael.

George was born in 1934 in Pridvorje, Croatia. In the 1950s, he emigrated to Canada, later settling in California in 1963, where he built a life defined by hard work, talent, and dedication. He spent over four decades working in Research and Development within the defense industry in the San Jose area, contributing his expertise and ingenuity throughout a fine career.

Following his retirement more than 25 years ago, George embraced a life rich in travel and connection. He cherished spending long summers in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and exploring Europe alongside his beloved wife, Stane. These years were filled with adventure, and time with loving family members.

George is survived by his wife, Stane; his daughter, Marie; and his son-in-law, Michael. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark.

George will be laid to rest in Pridvorje, Croatia, the town of his birth.

He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his enduring spirit, sense of humor, kind heart, hard work, and the life he built across continents.
