On December 15, 2021, in the loving arms of her four children, Georgia Lea Mongelluzzo (Efthimion), peacefully passed away in her San Jose, California home. We are heartbroken to lose our matriarch, a model of strength, resilience, and grace throughout her life.

Georgia Lea Mongelluzzo (Efthimion), 83 years old, was born in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, on April 27, 1938, to Zacharias and Kathryn Efthimion. Georgia is survived by her four children, Jodi (Michael), Joseph “Joey”, Jon (Stephanie) and Jacki (Todd). Georgia was blessed with three grandchildren, James (Julie), Gregory, and Kathryn (Tyler). In 2020, she became a Great-Grandmother. She was known as “Triple G” and her great-granddaughter, Ellison Lee, stole her heart. Georgia had two step-grandchildren, Amanda (Tom), Tyler (Kendall) and great Grandsons Jameson and Heath, and a new great-granddaughter, June, born in December 2021. Georgia has three surviving siblings, Evelyn Ferous (Efthimion), Cheryl Haught (Efthimion) and John Efthimion and loving nieces, nephews and cousins in Florida, Kansas, Illinois, Ohio and Virginia. Georgia is also survived by boyfriend, Bob Vittoria.

Georgia’s family was the most important thing in her life. Georgia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved going to casinos with friends and her two daughters, watching Price is Right with her son, and talking with her best friend, Vicky Behm at 8:30 am each morning. She provided love, wisdom, support, stuffed grape leaves and baklava with a kind heart. Georgia was generous and thoughtful to everyone she called family or friend. Georgia’s love and strength will be carried on by all those that knew her and loved her.

A memorial to remember Georgia will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, California, in the Chapel of the Roses at 10:00 am. A reception will follow the service.
