

Gilbert Morin Jr. passed away, Friday, May 28, 2021, in the comfort of his home at the age of 80. Gilbert was born July 13, 1940, in Del Rio, Texas to Gilbert Morin Sr. and Guadalupe Gonzalez. He attended high school at Sacred Heart Academy where he excelled on the basketball team. In 1962, Gilbert moved to San Jose, California where he resided until his passing.
Gilbert worked as an accountant with IBM for 35 years, then secured a position with Hewlett Packard for five years before he returned to IBM to work on a special project for two years, then San Jose State University for five years where he concluded his career.
Gilbert was a general sports enthusiast, he spent many years coaching his son’s soccer team, The Storm Troopers, which brought him happiness and joy.
Gilbert is survived by Rosa Maldonado, the love of his life for 35 years. He was loved and will be eternally missed by his children Gilbert (Lisa) Morin, Rachel Kenoly, Raylene Avila, Martha Maldonado, Rey Maldonado and Jeanette Maldonado (deceased), his grandchildren, Juliana Morin, Jacob Morin, Liana Upshaw, Maliah Kenoly, Lailani Kenoly, Anthony Kenoly, Zion Kenoly, Jimmy (Crystal) Cordova, Rebecca Cordova-Pompa, Santana Pompa, Mark Reyes and Michael Salazar, and sisters Sonya, Laura and Deborah.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 4 p.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial, 710 Willow St., San Jose. Rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m. Final visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with interment to follow immediately at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose.
