Jack attended Oklahoma A&M Tech until serving as Staff Sergeant in Korea, returning to complete his degree at San Jose Jr. College. He was employed as a printer and linotype operator for more than 50 years, first beginning in the family-owned Carnegie Herald while in high school. He was a proud member of the International Typographer’s Union for over 40 years having completed his apprenticeship concurrently with his college studies. After retirement he shared his knowledge of printing as a volunteer docent and curator of the Print Shop exhibit at the Museum of American Heritage in Palo Alto, CA.
In 1955 Jack was married to the love of his life, Virginia Lee Beish of Willow Glen, CA who predeceased him on January 2, 2021. They had previously celebrated their 65th anniversary. He shared a passion for the SF Giants and 49ers with his wife; and they were lifetime members of the Sons of Norway where they had good times with many of their lifelong friends.
He is survived by his children Bruce Jolly, Jackie Jolly and Jenice Provost. Loving Grandad to Elizabeth, Bryan and Tim. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
