I’m sorry for your family’s loss. Jamie was a great guy and a great DT instructor. I had him as an instructor in the early 90’s and what I learned from him kept me safe for a 25 year career. Rest in peace brother.

Lisa just told me about Jamie and I am so sorry to hear about your loss. 1970 - 1975 were such important years to me.  So many  memories of that time involve the three Saldivars.  In looking at your beautiful pictures, the same passions that were true in the '70's look to be constant throughout Jamie's life in no particular order: Family, Music, Football, Cars, and serving others.  Such happy memories of hanging out on Warner Drive in the basement at the Saldivar's listening to Wade by the Water.... with Mrs Saldivar upstairs cooking and Mr. Saldivar in his favorite chair. When I heard the news, I was heartbroken.
We grew up respecting life and understanding death was inevitable.
God has a plan of us all. That’s the only way I can square Jamie being taken so young.
My life-long friend since age 6, over 65 years. Never a cross word was spoken. We loved each other unconditionally. St Patrick’s was where we grew-up. Birthday parties, movies, sports and yes school plays. Jamie wanted to be an army man…. me a doctu.
Jamie left for a few year’s and we rejoined again at Bellarmine. During our youth we loved to ride bike, dumpster dump for treasure and fish. I taught Jamie how to tie fly’s ; like I was any good at it. Our moms took us to Niles Canyon to fly fish. We were very fortunate in that way, parental guidance. Jamie was always a good sport, always helping and showing by example. Jamie was a leader, capitol “L”. Jamie did not announce his condition. He was a silent sufferer to all. I respect his choice of privacy, but I still feel a loss not to have been of more support. 
Jamie did not ask anything, he gave. His heart was there for all those who just looked in his eyes. You knew what Jamie was thinking, and he was pretty much right. Fair, just and above board. Never would I expect this loss so early in our lives. I love you Brother, miss you tremendously and will hope to join you on the other side.
I’m sorry for getting you in trouble for shooting the BB gun off your balcony. Mom did not like this, but you showed me how to have fun. As I wipe away the tears,                                                                                             you RIP for now my Brother.

I never worked mids with Jaime, but if I needed something done in his area, he would come to my office and ask what I needed.  I could always count on Jaime to get results.  He will be missed.  Good guy.

Jaime was always looking to get someone to smile, have fun, goof around, and connect.
But if you needed seriousness, he brought that too.

 To put into words the loss I feel is almost impossible.  I don’t think you fully knew how many people you touched with kindness despite your hard exterior . I will miss your hearty laugh, sending birthday cards and you at the family parties asking “did everyone have a good time ?” then turning the lights off and telling everyone to go home. Classic  Sal move!  I could go on and on! 
So many funny stories, moments and memories we had the opportunity to be a part of! 
 All of this will be so missed as you will be.
Till we meet again (though you may close the gates on me) you are and will always be a ray of sunshine in my heart!

One of the most incredible men I had the honour to know. He made me laugh, he cheered me up...the world is a worse place without him.

My heartfelt condolences on your loss. Jaime was a good man. I looked up to him as a rookie, and became friends with him as a cop and a guitar player. What a great dude. The world is a little sadder without him in it.

I'm sorry to hear this unfortunate news. Jamie was one of the best mids officer's bar none.

I’m so deeply Sorry to hear of Jaime’s passing.  I was honored to be Jaime‘s friend for over 30 years and he was much more than a friend. He was a confident and  an advisor, and a couple of times a lifesaver to me and my family. He was a man of integrity and deep, moral character, and I feel extremely lucky to have known him and his family. May his journey home to his ancestral halls, be swift and joyous! I will miss him greatly!
