Janice Mae Ortiz

A beloved wife, mom, and grandma passed away peacefully in San Jose on May 3, 2018. Jan M. Ortiz was born in Portland, OR to Helen and George Kolibaba. She was the youngest of three children. Jan graduated in 1968, from Franklin High School. She leaves behind her husband of 45 years; Rich Ortiz, two children; Steve and Valerie; three grandchildren; Zackary, Madelyn and Derrick along with her two brothers; George and Ray Kolibaba.

Jan was a secretary in her early days and then became a Management Analyst II at the Santa Clara Valley Water District. She loved camping, taking cruises, watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren. Jan was the kindest person with an infectious laugh and will always be loved and missed.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Monday, May 21, 2018 between the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. Services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10 am in the Chapel of the Oaks Room followed by Burial at 11:00 am and Reception at 11:30 am. All functions will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Jan’s behalf to Susan G.
