Born in Del Rio, Texas, Joel built a life defined by faith, family, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved most. A proud Army veteran, he carried the values of strength, integrity, and commitment with him long after his service, living each day with quiet purpose and gratitude.
Above all else, Joel was a family man. A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Grace, a steady and dependable father to Joel and Jamie, and a proud and loving Papa to Presley, Marygrace, Ashley, Joel, Lexie, and great-granddaughter Riley. His family was his greatest joy and his greatest accomplishment.
Those who knew him best often gave him a simple phrase that perfectly captured who he was: “No matter what.” He would always make it happen for his family.
Joel showed his love not just in words, but in the small, everyday moments that meant everything — driving his grandchildren to school year after year, never missing the chance to show up, dancing with Grace whenever music filled the room, and being the kind of dad his children could always count on.
He will be remembered for his humor, his selflessness, and the way he made everyone feel safe, supported, and deeply cared for. His Christian faith guided his life, and he trusted God through every season. He taught his family to stay close, to work hard, to lead with kindness, and to find joy and laughter even in the simplest moments.
Joel’s legacy lives on in the strong, loving family he built and in the countless memories they will carry in their hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
