Jose Maciel

Jose Maciel Paramo was a hardworking man who valued family and friendship above all else. He was deeply rooted in his hometown of Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato and always longed to return there. However, he made the difficult decision to leave everything he knew behind and follow his wife to the United States. Despite the challenges he faced, he always maintained a positive attitude and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Jose's love for his family was evident in everything he did. He worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and children, and always made time for them despite his busy schedule. His home was a gathering place for loved ones, and he enjoyed nothing more than sharing a cup of coffee or a shot of tequila while regaling them with stories of his life.

Although he spent many years away from his homeland, Jose never forgot his roots. He made frequent trips back to Valle de Santiago to reconnect with his past and spend time in his beloved blue house. He was a proud Mexican and instilled that pride in his children and grandchildren.

Jose's passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. However, his memory will live on through his family and the many people whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anselma Maciel, and by five children, Enrique, Edith (Rodrigo), Maricela, Rosemary (Gabriel), Juan, and four grandchildren, Eva, Gabriel, Diego, and Tiffany.

A visitation for Jose will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Leo the Great Church, 88 Race St, San Jose, CA 95126. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
