Josephine, a life-long resident of San Jose, died peacefully in her sleep on November 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Giovannoni, her brother Daniel (Bob) McGinley, and her sister Roselinor McGinley. Josephine is survived by her loving children Joanne Rinnert (Juergen), Margaret Douglas (Alan), Bill Giovannoni (Pam), and Irene Giovannoni. Cherished grandmother of Chris Rinnert (Denise), Todd Giovannoni (Krista), Matt Rinnert (Angela), Bob Douglas (Andree), Tina Wheeler (Matt), Bill Douglas (Maureen). "Grandma Jo" to her beloved great grandchildren, Addie, Amanda, Patrick, Nolan, Garratt, Alanna, Aidan, Colin, Riley, and Kendall. Josephine was a graduate of Notre Dame San Jose, Class of 1936. She was a dedicated volunteer for thirty-five years at O'Connor Hospital. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish since 1947. Family and friends are invited to a Vigil on December 1, 2016 at 7:00PM at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose. The Funeral Mass will be held on December 2, 2016 at 12:00PM at Sacred Heart Church 325 Willow Street, San Jose. Internment will be private. Donations can be made in her name to Sacred Heart Church.
