

June E. (Carlson) Berg, resident of San Jose, California passed away on September 24, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She is survived by her husband Wesley, four sons William Ronald, Robert and Charles Berg. Devoted grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 6. Dear sister of Glenn Carlson, Dwight Carlson, Dorothy Ulrich, Betty McCarty, Rowena Netzley, and the late Warren Carlson and Wanda Rouch.
June was born in Cutler, California on March 26, 1922. She lived with her family in Kansas for ten years. She then returned to Kingsburg, California for High School. She met her husband-to-be in Reedley Junior College in California. June and Wes married September 13, 1943. June followed Wes during his three years in the Army Air Corp in the U.S. After the war, June was a farmer's wife while Wes farmed his family farm in Fresno County for four years, then her husband returned to finish his college education at San Jose State and Stanford. June went back to school to finish her college education after giving birth to her four sons. After retiring from full-time teaching, she became a substitute teacher in the San Jose and Union School Districts. She loved gardening and sports with her husband, playing tennis, bowling and hiking. June and Wes traveled extensively for ten years before her health deteriorated. She was an active Sunday School teacher in the LDS Church in Almaden. The couple moved to The Atrium in 2000 and June's health became more of a problem. During her last months, she lived at the Lincoln Glenn Manor before passing away due to pneumonia.
Memorial Services will be at the LDS Church at 6625 Camden Avenue, San Jose, CA on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church, in her memory.
