

Louis was born and raised in San Jose, California. He graduated from Camden High School, where he met the love of his life, Nellie Cherta. A Vietnam war veteran, he served our nation with the Black Horse 11th Armored Cavalry from 1968 thru 1970.
Louis married Nellie at Saint Christopher’s Church on June 26th of 1971. They were married for 49 years. He is survived by Nellie and their 3 children, Michael, Janel and Jason. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren, Christian and Chandler.
Louis spent most of his working career at Applied Materials. He loved Table Tennis and played regularly at the community center, as well as competing in various tournaments, both sources of great friendship and fellowship.
Among his many talents, Louis trained as a barber and regularly gave superb haircuts to his family. He enjoyed cooking and grilling to perfection and prepared the tastiest of meals. A “jack of all trades,” Louis was also a mechanic & maintained all the vehicles for his family. He did everything with love and a smile and treasured his family and friends.
Of first priority, though, was Louis’s relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through this relationship, Louis experienced tremendous transformation in his life. He cherished his devotional time with the Lord. Louis was a beacon of light and encouragement to those around him. He attended Gateway City Church, San Jose, where he was an usher. Louis never failed to sew this seed into the lives of those around him. He is deeply loved and missed dearly.
