

Marcial Baluyot de Leon of San Jose passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Palo Alto at the age of 75 with family by his side. He was born on June 4, 1950, in Manila, Philippines, to the late Honorato and Consolacion de Leon.
Mr. de Leon graduated from the University of the East in Manila with a BS in Finance. He was employed by Dynetics in the Philippines following graduation until 1980 when he emigrated to the United States. Marcial retired from Linear Technologies in Milpitas where he was employed from 2000 until 2018. Prior to that he worked for Integrated Device Technology in Santa Clara and Cypress Semiconductor in San Jose.
During retirement, Marcial spent time in his workshop woodworking, in his garden growing vegetables and fruits, and enjoying his favorite foods.
Marcial is survived by his wife Karen Smith de Leon who he married in 1984. He is also survived by four children: Mariel de Leon Adachi (Daisuke), Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan, Marcial Smith de Leon, Jr. (Heather Deshazer), Sunnyvale, Ca., Joie Marietta Smith de Leon (Sovisit Thou), San Jose, Ca., and Jacquelin Cassie Smith de Leon, San Jose, Ca.
He is further survived by granddaughters Layssa and Chanally Adachi of Japan. Marcial is also survived by the following sisters and brother: Cynthia Bugarin (Orlando), Fairfax Station, Virginia, Elizabeth Stolkowski (Danial Splain), Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Grace (Nori) Baluyot (Rodrigo), San Jose, California, Theresa Garcia (Arturo), Brunswick Hills, Ohio, Honorato (Jun) de Leon (Ann), San Jose, Ca, Daisy Santos (Nelson), Orion, Bataan, Philippines and Ruena Vergene (Jeffrey), Mission Viejo, Ca.
Mr. de Leon is also survived by close family friend, Natalie Tran, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Friends and family will be received at the Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, located at 710 Willow Street in San Jose on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by funeral services from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Witness cremation will take place at 2:30 PM at the Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue in San Jose.
