

Shirley Marlene Henry Greene, 92 years old, of San Jose, CA, joined her heavenly father on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with loved ones by her side. Marlene was born on a rainy day at home on Monday, September 25, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Survived by her beloved husband, Richard Greene of 60 years, her eldest daughter Paula Willie of San Jose, CA, (Son-in-law Dennis Sr.), grandchildren Dennis Willie Jr. of Kingman, AZ and Tiffanie Willie-Beltran of Morgan Hill, CA (Bob), faithful companion - Willie’s Harley, daughter Katheryn Blatt of Los Banos, CA (Son-in-law Brandon) grandchildren Tyler (Kayla), Brandon, Corben and great granddaughter Brielle, fur-babies Bella and Roxy, sister, Janet Johns of Baden, PA, sister, Bernice Ott of Pittsburgh, PA, brother Warren Henry (Joyce) of Sugarland, TX and many nieces, nephews, cousins throughout the United States whom she loved dearly.
Marlene was predeceased in death by her parents Herbert Lewis Henry of Turtle Creek, PA and Helen Caroline (Warner) Henry of Turtle Creek, half-brother Wallace Henry of McKeesport, PA, Aunt Dorothy Melsena Warner of PA, Aunt Edna Ruffner of PA, Uncle Charles Henry of PA, brother-in-law, Dick Johns of Baden, PA, sister-in-law Grayson (Moseley) Henry of Shreveport, LA, brother-in-law Chuck Ott of Pittsburgh, PA.
Marlene married the love of her life, Richard Greene, on October 2, 1965, and raised two daughters with an active lifestyle. Marlene loved the following: praying, reading her bible and daily devotionals, watching tv shows about animals (especially elephants), attending or hosting tea parties, looking at the moon, stargazing, playing board games, travelling to conferences, sewing quilts, quilling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Marlene enjoyed mystery books and collecting various items from coins, stamps, and even carousels. She enjoyed riding the Harley Davidson Motorcycle with Richard and travelling either in the motorhome or on his private aircraft. Marlene enjoyed researching her family ancestry and hosting many parties for special events. Some of her favorite items included: the smell of lavender or eucalyptus, drinking coffee or tea, and creating arts and crafts with her best friends. Her joy, care, sincerity, and compassion have touched so many lives including her students while teaching Home Economics for 39 years. Cherished by all whom met her, worked with her, and knew her as an authentic and amazing woman she was, she will be deeply missed. Her letter writing skills were appreciated by the many people that she would mail a letter to, as she was sincerely interested in hearing about the activities in people’s lives.
Graduated from Avonworth High School, Ben Avon, PA in 1951, Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from State Teachers College, Indiana, PA in 1958, The State of California, Special Secondary Life Diploma in Homemaking Education (a lifetime credential) in 1970, Master of Arts – Home Economics from San Jose State University in San Jose, CA in 1972.
Many professional and personal memberships to the organizations that she held dear.
The family would like to thank Pathways Hospice of Sunnyvale, CA for the last couple of years of care along with the many doctors and staff at Kaiser Permanente.
A graveside service will be held at her family plot at the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, Pennsylvania at a future date.

Visitation will take place at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, March 10, 2026 visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service led by Pastor Jason West at 11:00 a.m. A light reception follows immediately after the service.
