Happy birthday Aunty Nhu. Thinking of you and missing you very much today 💙🪷

Just saw this: I remembered her in 1998-1999. She was in CS courses.

Hi Nhu, 
I spoke about you in class today and haven’t been able to stop thinking about what I’ve been feeling. In my grief counseling class they teach us to stay with the feelings of our client. I volunteered to do a demo with my professor and to be honest it was hard and uneasy but I sat with the feeling and my thoughts of you. I got to reflect on how much I admired you growing up. I’ve always wanted to be pretty and kind just like you. My favorite color and favorite animals are my favorites because at a time they were your favorites and I got to admit that in a space today. I even got to time travel back to when you’d teach me to read write and learn how to do math and cook. I also got to think about all the times I was able to call you because I was going through a hard time or fighting with my mom.  You always knew what to say and how to make me feel protected. I see you in other peole and I feel your presence through them.  I don’t fully understand what that means yet. Last night we had tet at mom and grandmas house and your photo was right next to the dining table across from me. It felt like you were there with us. Hope you got to magically enjoy some of the food we had last night.  I miss you so much Nhu. I had always felt guilty for not being able to cry for you but these last few weeks have been something. I love you 💙

I have this memory of you that stuck with me since I was a kid. It was a sunny day in Las Vegas and the family was roaming the streets.  I remember following your steps by looking down at your dolphin anklet and when I looked up, you had your hands reaching out to me.  I thought to myself, “When I grow up I want to be pretty and kind just like aunty Nhu.”

I miss you so much. I can’t find the right words to express how I feel but I want you to know that you have a forever home in my heart. Rest in paradise ♡ #lunalovesyou 

I miss her dearly. Nhu was one of those aunts that never said much, but had done so much for the entire family. She kept us together because that’s all she ever wanted, and without many of us realizing it, she was the glue to our disputes, no matter how rough the situation was. Nhu was always calm, even when she was first diagnosed with cancer. I remember hearing the news and imagined the heartbreak she must have felt but, she fought on and with a smile. She prepared herself for the worst that would come from radiation and so, found a way to make the hair loss a fun hat-shopping spree. I always admired that. I admire the strength she has demonstrated in our family, how she kept going even when there was so much chaos out of her control. I love her for that, and wanted to grow up to be the intelligent, determined, and compassionate woman she was. When my first dog passed away, she was the first family member to send me her condolences. She knew how much my dog had meant to me, and knew I was suffering with grief because I had lost my best friend. She told me make a photo album to keep all his memories into one place. She told me to listen to a song that made me think of him, because it was something she would do when she was sad. And listen to it over and over again. We started talking about music and it was moments like that, when she was helping me distract myself from the sadness. I will never forget what she did for me that day. She did so much for the people she cared about, without any hesitation and fully with kindness. It is hard to see that in many people today, but she’s one of the few that brought genuine compassion to our chaotic world. I love her so much, and am thankful for every moment and conversation I’ve had with her. I miss her dearly. 

Nhu and grew up together with my grandma, Mom and 5 total siblings.
We did house chores and went to movies as we got rewarded from our siblings
We carpool to the same college couple years 
We worked part time job during college at piercing Pagoda 
I was able to get a hold of our former district manager, she share a little note about Nhu-
In 2009, we both love the puppies and so after I got married. 
We decided to practice motherhood by adopting and took the puppies to Lake Tahoe for camping together.
That was a fun journey 
Nhu like weekend and small trips getaway 
We created memories for Mom, since they share same birthdate  by going birthday weekend getaway to lake Tahoe’s, Napa-Sonoma, Monterey 
Along with vacations to Las Vegas- count down for new year and Florida.
When I have 2 daughters, Nhu always spoiled them with handmade headband, crafting decorating and beautiful dresses 
She’s always there if you need advices, help no matter what.
