Patricia was born on January 31, 1947 in Oakland, California to Raymond D. Noel and Elizabeth “Betsy” Maritzen Noel. She was the second of four girls. Patricia graduated from Capuchino High School in San Bruno in 1964. She was a Pom-Pom girl and a member of the swim team. She was the life of the party.
Patricia married in 1966, and had three children. She was active in Republican politics in California during that time, and even went to the Republican National Convention in 1972 as a California delegate.
In 1972, Patricia and her family moved to Texas, where she remained active in politics and started playing Bridge. She achieved the rank of Life Master, and remained active in Bridge until the end of her life.
In 2014 Patricia moved back to San Jose, and met Ken Mussat, a fellow graduate of Capuchino High. They married in 2016. She loved being back in California with its fruit trees and rolling hills, and enjoyed all of the family time she was able to have with Ken and his children, whether it was just a family dinner or an evening playing games. She also loved the weather, and how she was able to walk her beloved dogs year round.
Patricia had many loves in her life – her husband Ken, her dogs Freddy and Bailey, her children, her stepchildren, her grandchildren, Diet Coke, Chocolate Mint ice cream, sourdough bread, beaches, and her sports teams. She was a rabid basketball fan – whether it was her Golden State Warriors or her Houston Rockets. She also loved her two football teams – the Houston Oilers and the San Francisco 49’ers. On Sundays you could guarantee that she was either in the stands cheering them on or sitting in front of the television yelling at the screen. Sundays were not quiet in either place.
She was proud of many things in her life, such as her Life Master status in Bridge, her side business of selling and buying jewels, and her animals, but most of all, she was proud of her three children – Lisa, Tom and Jeanne, and her three grandchildren, Ashley, Sean and Ethan. She was often checking up on them and stressing the importance of higher education., as well as ensuring they remembered the important things in life.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Noel, her sister Mary Buckley and her sister Lorrie Martin. She is survived by her husband, Ken Mussat, her children Elizabeth Cubley and husband Scott, Thomas Rannells and wife Nicole, Jeanne Rannells and wife D’Lynn Schertz, her stepdaughter Kerry Entrekin and husband Josh, stepson Joe Mussat, as well as grandchildren Ashley Crouch and husband Mitchell, Sean Cubley and Ethan Rannells. She is also survived by her sister Vanessa Fujimoto and husband Warren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her motto in life was “Eat dessert first, and eat dessert often.”
She will be missed.
