Phil Hatley passed away suddenly on February 14, 2019. Phil is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Hatley and dedicated son, Ross Hatley, Phil’s mother Grace Hatley and his sister Elaine Miller. He was a man who served well; He served his family, his passengers and crew as an International Captain with American Airlines and he served his church but foremost, he served God. Phil was 57 years old.
Phil was born on July 1, 1961 in San Jose, California. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1983 with an Aeronautics Degree and received his pilot license in High School. Phil's love for flying became a reality when he became an employee for American Airlines almost 35 years ago. He proudly served American Airlines and became one of the youngest Captains. He then became an international Captain in 2015 where he happily flew all over the world.
Teresa and Phil met while they were both working at Baskin Robbins during their high school years. They fell in love and married in 1984. They were blessed with their son Ross in 1997. Phil lived his life as a protector and guardian, being their hero in all things.
