Rebecca Medina-Luna Rosales, also known as Becky, passed away peacefully in her childhood home, surrounded by her beautiful family on June 3, 2025. As an adored wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, she is leaving behind a legacy of love that we will always hold close to our hearts. Becky was born in San Jose, California on February 19, 1968. She was the fourth born child to Guadalupe Medina Luna and Pedro Santillan Luna, and she was a cherished little sister to her older siblings Edith, Eleazar, and Isaias. In April of 1970, Becky became a big sister to Danny Luna.
Rebecca spent her early years in Long Beach, California with her first Husband David Montes and had her first child Skyla. They then moved to Seattle, Washington and were blessed with their first son Nico. Becky raised Skyla and Nico with close help from her Mother Guadalupe until she met Ismael Rosales. After 8 years of being together, she was able to complete her family by marrying Ismael and welcoming three more beautiful children; Giovanni, Nevaeh, and Estrella Rosales. Becky enjoyed her quality time visiting with family and friends. She loved to listen to music and there was always something to talk about while cooking in the kitchen. Spending time with her children was something she cherished, whether it be going to thrift stores with Nico and the girls or hanging out in the backyard while Ismael barbequed. As you may know, Rebecca’s first son has Autism, and she often needed support from close family members. She loved Giovonni and how helpful he has always been in aiding her all these years with his big brother. She always boasted about him and how much he would spoil her.
Rebecca worked at Valley Medical hospital for many years, having several different roles, her favorite occupation title was Phlebotomist. She treasured her work and the friendships she acquired along the years. Becky had always had dogs growing up and she would raise them as if they were her own babies. She was able to enjoy her doggy Rockie for 15 years, and she leaves behind Coqueta and Horchata. Becky would dress the dogs in cute tutus and special outfits for the holidays and there wasn't a place she would go without them. Rebecca always had her hair and makeup done before she left her house. She loved big curls or to have her blonde hair flipped out away from her face to highlight her beautiful brown eyes. Her green thumb was phenomenal; she grew flowers, cacti, fruits, and nuts. She kept everyone on their toes and brought smiles to so many with her unpredictable jokes. She was bold and unapologetic when it came to her children. Becky took pride in her family and keeping everyone close.
Becky treated her nieces and nephews as her own and though she did not have any grandchildren, she enjoyed the time she had with her great nephews.
Though she may have departed from this earth too early, Rebecca’s love will stay eternally present within each of us. Rebecca’s journey reunites her with her dear mother, Guadalupe Medina Luna, affectionately known as Lupe. He father Pedro Santillan Luna as well as her grandparents and great grandparents; Natividad Gamez Medina, Miguel Medina, and great grandmother; Josephina Gamez.
