Ricardo B Palacios

May 3, 1937 - January 15, 2024

Ricardo Palacios, known to many as “Nino”, passed away peacefully at his home in Hayward, CA on Monday January 15th, 2024 in the company of his beloved wife and son, following a significant health decline in the months leading up to his passing.

Born to Jose and Carmen Palacios in Jalisco, Mexico, Ricardo came to California at the age of 18 and dedicated his life to providing for his family, giving each loved one the best life possible - full of love, joy, and fulfillment. A dedicated entrepreneur, Ricardo owned many popular restaurants in San Francisco for over 40 years, including Guadalajara De Noche on 24th St.

Ricardo is described by loved ones as an empathetic, compassionate, gentle, and loving soul - full of love, hope and faith. To know him was truly to love him. His bright smile, infectious laugh and non stop jokes made him one of the most incredible people to be around. His faith in the Lord and in his loved ones was unwavering and like no one else’s. With Ricardo every moment was special. Every hello and goodbye was guaranteed to be followed by “God bless” and a prayer for safety, protection, good health and love.

Despite numerous life challenges Ricardo always persevered. His ability to see the good in every moment, even the magic of a rainbow on a stormy day, Ricardo saw and brought light everywhere he went. Ricardo led his family with compassion, love and faith. He taught his family the same practices that guided him through life, leaving behind a legacy that will live on for generations to come.

Ricardo is survived by his wife, Lucia Burgos Palacios and four children, Richard, Janet, Sonia and Elizabeth. Blessed with a large family Ricardo is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, Richard Jr., Emilio, Miguel, Carmen, David, Edward, Lucy, Raul, Earl, Lorena, Carlos, Andrea, Karla, Jessica, Virginia, Ricardo Jr., and Sonia. To bring even more love to this family, Ricardo is also survived by 27 great grandchildren, his brothers Gonzalo and Roberto, and his sister Arcelia.
