With a heartache no one can heal we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Lee Otey on October 26, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born on April 28, 1926 in Oakland, CA, the only child of Gerald Lee Otey and Margaret Reba Eves.

A loving husband of 63 years to his late wife Virginia. He is survived by his son Paul (Lin), daughter Janet, granddaughters Karin (Mark), Julie (Andrew), Suzanne (Jake) and great granddaughter Aislin.

Our beloved father, and grandfather was a wonderfully loving, caring man who always made family his priority.

Dick retired in 1985 from United Centrifugal Pumps in San Jose where he worked for 35 years in the Engineering Department in various positions. During his retirement he enjoyed model trains, genealogy, and traveling with his wife Virginia.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St., San Jose, on Sunday, November 13, at 11:00am. Visitation begins at 9:30am.
