

Rosie O. Flores, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at the age of 83. Born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, she was raised by her parents, Guadalupe and Manuela Orta, in Crystal City, Texas, where she developed a deep sense of family and community and found the love of her life, Rodolfo "Fox" Flores.
For 62 years, Rosie made Morgan Hill, California, her home, where she became a beloved member of the community. Rosie dedicated 37 years of her life to the Morgan Hill Unified School District, retiring in 2004. Her work touched the lives of many, and she was deeply respected by her colleagues and students.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Flores, as well as her parents and siblings Rachel Orta, Ricardo Orta, Carmen Gonzalez, Robert Orta, and Rey Orta. She is survived by her son, Rodolfo Flores Jr. (Kenna) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and daughter, Cynthia Polanco (David) of San Jose, California. She is also survived by her siblings: Santa Morales, Rudy Orta (Carolina), Lupe Lopez (Eddie), Ramon Orta, Gloria Figueroa, Teresa Crue, Isabel Jones, and Ramiro Orta (Carolyn), as well as numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, soon to be first great-great-grandson, nephews, nieces, great-nephews,
and great-nieces, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Rosie had many passions in life, including reading, quilting, and traveling. She cherished her family and friends, and her generous spirit and vibrant personality touched everyone she met. Her lifelong friendships are a testament to her kind heart and loving nature.
Services for our beloved Rosie will be held on April 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Willow Glen Funeral Home located at 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will follow to share memories and wonderful stories of how such an amazing woman impacted the lives of her loved ones over food and beverages.
She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of unconditional love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
