Susan Carter passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 12 after a long illness. Susan was a lifelong resident of San Jose, born to Robert and Frances Renzel here in 1934. She attended San Jose State University and University of Colorado at Boulder, then received a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Mills College in 1957. She married Chester Carter in 1959 and devoted her life to raising her three children, Joe, Jim (Tami) and Margaret (Philip) and then helping to care for her grandchildren, Jordan, Logan, Ben, and Marcus. She loved her family. There will be a small service for family members only. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family kindly requests no donations.
