She then worked picking prunes and cutting apricots. She also worked at Saratoga Grammar School in the cafeteria, and at the soda and lunch counter at Saratoga Drugstore. She then worked for the family business, Buy and Save Market in Saratoga and then ultimately became a homemaker, caring for her four children.
She was married to Frank Butera on June 3rd 1951 and they were married for 62 years until he passed in 2013.
Virginia is survived by her four children; Angelo Butera and wife Lynn, Frank Butera and his wife Debbie, Julie Hatcher and her husband Rick, Jeanie Butera and her husband Brian. Her grandchildren; Michael Hatcher, Elizabeth Hatcher, Justin Butera, and Melinda Wallace-Ochoa, and her great-grandchild Logan Foley.
Funeral services will be private.
