

William Sherbon died peacefully at his San Jose apartment at the age of 62. Bill was born in Minnesota. The majority of his school-age years were spent in Lansing, New York (near Ithaca). For one year, he went to school in Palmerston North, New Zealand, while his family was living there.
Bill graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Cornell University. His early jobs were in Quality Control in the Food industry in upstate New York. During his college years and early career, he was also a volunteer fireman.
His career brought him and his beloved German Shepherd, to Santa Cruz, California. He later moved to San Jose where he has been a long-time resident. Bill switched to the computer industry when his plant shut down. Bill worked in various roles in this industry until his 2023 cancer diagnosis.
Bill loved long bicycle rides, being with friends and family, listening to music with Nala, the house cat, and building computers. Bill was preceded in death by his father, John Sherbon. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Sherbon, his sister Barb Wood (spouse Mike) and his nieces Chelsea (spouse Ben) and Leah.
Bill’s family and friends remember his kindness, conversation, and compassion and will deeply miss him. His long-time friend, Luke McDonald is planning a memorial bicycle ride on 4/19 that will end at Willow Street Frank Bramhall Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.
