Layton Michael Duffy

Layton (Michael) Duffy 83, passed away on November 5, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Angela Duffy, loving father of the late Mary Westcott and the late Michael Duffy, loving grandfather of the late Adam Westcott. Survived by his niece Donna Harris, son-in-law Fred Westcott, many other nieces and nephews, and wonderful supportive special friends. A retired San Francisco Police Officer, he was the past President of the Widows and Orphans Aid Association, and a member of the active and retired San Francisco Police Officers Association. He was a charter member of the Holy Name Society of Peter and Paul of St. Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco. He was a resident of North Beach, San Francisco for many years, and a resident of Terra Linda (San Rafael) since 1967. Michael served in the U.S. Navy 1946-1947, and two more years in the Navy Reserve. Relatives and friends are invited to a Rosary at the Church of St. Isabella, 1 Trinity Way, San Rafael on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be on Nov. 18 at 11 am, also at the Church of St. Isabella. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Donations preferred to Nazareth House, 245 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael CA 94903, or to the Salesian Boys' and Girls' Club, 680 Filbert St., San Francisco, CA 94133.
