Marie D. Maloney Marie, artist, born in Philadelphia and resided in San Rafael. Prior to moving to Marin in 1970 she enjoyed Army life with her husband, Dick (deceased). They enjoyed traveling to many countries and moved here after her husbands retirement from the military. She began her love of painting in the mid-60s and enhanced her passion while studying art at the Columbus Georgia School of Art. After moving to Marin she studied art at College of Marin and Indian Valley College. She was a member of the National League of American Pen Women and Marin Society of Artists. Marie enjoyed traveling and entertaining and family and friends say she was outgoing and had a good sense of humor. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Williams, son-in-law Richard Williams, and her two granddaughters, Sarah and Melissa. A celebration of her life will be held May 20th from 4-6 PM at Marin Art and Garden Center in the Marin Society of Artists gallery.
