Mirian was born on the 28th of February in the year 1959 in Barrio El Calvario, Usulutan, El Salvador. As a little girl she always did what she wanted, when she wanted. She did not care as to what anyone else thought. Her way was the only way, because she always knew it was the correct way. She stayed the same as she grew into an adult. She is the eldest daughter of her four siblings, all born in El Salvador. As the oldest she carried big responsibilities, setting a trend for the ladies and showing the men she could keep up. She always thought of how she could help her family and her life actions reflected that.
She was the first Herrera to bring herself to the United States. She then brought her first daughter, Dinora, to California before having her second daughter, Yvette. After Mirian brought all of her siblings as well as their parents and the rest of our cherished family to begin the new life we all live now. She worked every job she could to earn the life she wanted to give to her loved ones. As a chef at Nazareth, Mirian remained a loyal employee working there for almost 4 consecutive decades. She gave her all to her job even after they closed, adopting the 2 cats that lived there, Lucky and Boots.
After reluctantly entering into retirement Mirian was forced to take a break for the first time in her life. In the two months before she passed she took a trip to El Salvador getting to see family she hadn't seen in years. The week before she passed, she had lunch with friends, drove to visit her grandchildren, and was so excited about her first Thanksgiving off. After devoting her life as a hard worker, she finally got a break. Sadly, it was cut too short. In her honor, please don't wait for your break. Use your time now while you have it. Treat everyday as if it were Thanksgiving. Follow what you believe is best, the way Mirian Herrera did.
