Norma O'Regan 1926 - 2014 Norma Elizabeth Carley O'Regan was a native San Franciscan, born to Edgar and Irene Carley on October 27, 1926. She grew up in the Parkside neighborhood of the City and attended St. Cecilia's Grammar School and Presentation High School. Upon her graduation from high school, she went to work at the Hibernia Bank, where she eventually met her future husband, Joseph O'Regan. They married in June of 1955 and began their life together in Marin County, first in Belvedere and then in Terra Linda. Norma was widowed in 1962 when her husband was fatally injured in a car accident. At that time, her oldest of three children was five, and she was pregnant with her fourth. Once her children were of school age, she began her career as a secretary in San Francisco. She retired in 2002. Six years ago, Norma moved to Nazareth House where she resided until her death on April 10. As her memory diminished and her needs increased, she was respectfully and patiently cared for by the incredible staff at Nazareth House and Hospice by the Bay. Norma was pre-deceased by her husband, Joe; her infant daughter, Jean Patricia; and her sister, Jean May. She is survived by her children: Kerry (Ray) Perry, Brennan (Noreen) O'Regan, and Erin (Frank) Avila, her grandchildren: Patrick (Mollie), Clare, Erin, and Joe (Robin), and her nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held in the chapel at Nazareth House on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norma's name to Nazareth House, 245 Nova Albion Way, San Rafael CA 94903.
Arrangements under the direction of Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael, CA.
