Beatrice S. Benedict

She was born on October 3, 1926 in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of John and Amelia (Peredne) Stanis. She attended Bassick High School and Butler Business School. She worked as a secretary for the General Electric Co. in Bridgeport, CT.

In October 1975, Beatrice was united in marriage to Stuart C. Benedict in Bridgeport, CT. “Bea” and “Stu” moved to Sandwich where they owned and operated a Cottage Colony. She also worked briefly for Fred O. Earle Oil Company.

She was a Communicant of the Corpus Christi Parish in East Sandwich, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild.

Preceding her in death were her Parents, her husband Stuart, siblings; Mary White, and Frances Marin, and a niece Carol Leo.

Those left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews Patricia Karwan, Alicia Dougherty, Dennis White and Gerald Marin.

Friends my share their respect with the family on Sunday, November 16, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rte. 6A, Sandwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Corpus Christi Parish on Monday, November 17, at 11:00 AM. Fr. George Harrison, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

In lieu of flowers, Beatrice asked that people make donations to St. Vincent De Paul, c/o Corpus Christi Parish.
