

Eileen grew up in Malden and later attended Northeastern University. She worked for Avco Everett Research Labs, as a Purchasing Agent. Retired to Cape Cod and became a Head Docent at the Historical Hoxie House in Sandwich, where she received the Leo Manning Ambassadors award for her work, which she loved.
She was preceded in passing by her husband James Burns to whom she shared 38 years in marriage. She is survived by her sister: Sharon and husband Paul DeSisto of Yarmouth Port; sister: Deanna and husband Tom Szymczak of Sagamore; brother: Stephen and wife Mary Dustin of Everett; brother: Randall and wife Joan (Sandy) Dustin of Cape Coral, Fl.; her sister in law: Anna Dustin of Danvers. She also preceded in death by her sister: Glennie Jones of Amherst and brother: John Dustin of Danvers. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved very much and of course her dog Sammy that she took, everywhere she went.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday January 14, 12PM, at Corpus Christi Parish, 326 Quaker Meeting House Rd., E. Sandwich, MA. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, MA. Visiting hours will be: Thursday, January 13th, from 3-7 pm, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA
