MASHPEE – Eva C. Hatt, 95, of Mashpee died Wednesday, November 20, 2019 with her loving children at her side. She was the wife of the late Everett A. Hatt.
Born in Berwick PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Lucile (Miller) Maglott. She was a graduate of Wrentham High School (’42). After graduation she worked for the Telephone Company in Providence RI. Eva met and married her home town love Everett Hatt in 1947. They lived with Everett’s parents while they built a house for themselves on South St. in Plainville. Eva was a devoted and caring Mom for her 5 children. She enjoyed many years of bowling on the Council of Church’s league at North Bowl. She enjoyed sewing, rug braiding, playing cards and tending to the flowers in the garden. In 1989, she and Everett retired to their cottage home on Cape Cod. During this time she found a passion for playing golf and could be found pulling her own clubs around the course beyond the age of 90. Lovingly known by all as “Nana,” she adored her 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Eva is well known for her wonderful home cooked meals and open door policy at her Peter’s Pond beach house where all were welcome. She had a loving and accepting way about her that made everyone around her feel comfortable.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Marilyn) Hatt, Dale (Elaine Hansen) Hatt, Alan (Jan) Hatt, Gregory (Judy) Hatt and Christine (Jeff) Dennis; her sister, Joan Maglott Grover; her 8 grandchildren; Scott, Dennis, Lindsey, Gregory, Carley, Christopher, Tyler and Catherine; her 3 great-grandchildren, Emma, Mary and Norah. She was predeceased by her late husband Everett and 5 of her siblings.
Her visiting hours and memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7th 10:00am-1:00pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154Rt 6A., Sandwich, Ma
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Bridges By Epoch, Holiday Fund, 462 Old Barnstable Road, Mashpee, MA 02649. For directions and on-line guestbook visit: www.nickersonbournefuneralhome.com

To ALL the Hatt's....Patty and I are very sorry for your moms passing. It seems just like yesterday Mrs Hatt was nicely telling me to stop teasing Meg....you were very lucky to have her so long.

Eva added a warm and steady influence during some of my best childhood adventures while camping at Peter's Pond. She will always be in my memories.

I grew up with Chris since I was in second grade till about middle school. I remember her mom so much, she was such a wonderful person/mother. Sometimes I used to wish she was my own mom.
