

She is the wife of the late Charles F. O'Hara. Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Lynch) O' Sullivan.
Helen and her husband Charles were pioneers in searching for alternative programs for special needs children other than institutions. She was one of the original Beechnut Chewing Gum Girls for their first ads as well being a hostess at Blinstrub's Night Club in South Boston where she met many famous celebrities. But her primary role in life was being homemaker to her husband and her family.
She is survived by her children Charles O'Hara and his wife Carol of Nevada, Richard O'Hara of Sandwich and Maureen Hixon and her husband Bobby of Sandwich, 6 grandchildren Charles, Gayle and Michael O'Hara, Steven, Jennifer and Charlie Hixon. 6 great grandchildren Olivia, Nicholas, Quinn, Jesse, Brendan and William.
Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday Oct. 14, from 8:30 am to 10 am at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home,154 Route 6A, Sandwich followed by a funeral Mass at 11 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, in East Sandwich. Burial to follow at 12:45 at Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne.
