James Patrick Martin

Born in Sagamore Beach, MA, a son of Patrick J. Martin of Sandwich and the late Susan Melvin. Besides his father he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Jerome and Celia Melvin of Bethesda, MD and paternal grandparents of the late James and Mary Martin of Sandwich; brother of Thomas JT Jones of Charlotte NC, Kyle W. Jones of Pembroke MA, Brittany A. Jones of Pembroke MA; aunts Joan Martin of Marston’s Mills MA, Carol Martin-Condon of Sandwich MA, Eileen Raymond and her husband Derek of Bethesda, MD; uncles, Andrew Martin and his wife Nancy of Duxbury, MA, Timothy Martin of Plymouth MA and his many cousins.

He attended Sandwich High School and worked as a generator technician and foreman at Cape Cod Independent Power in Mashpee, MA. James was lifelong sports fan who enjoyed weight lifting, spending time with his beloved dog Jade, summer days on the beach and enjoying the company of his many friends and family.

He will be remembered best for his sense of humor and infectious smile that would light up any room he entered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA. Interment in Sandwich Town Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to The American Brain Tumor Association 8550 W.
