

John A. Fuller 93, of West Barnstable passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich, MA. He was the beloved husband of Mildred E. (De Blois) Fuller. Born in Attleboro, MA on March 6, 1921 he was the son of late Joseph S. Fuller and Angelina (Clarkin) Fuller. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Virginia (Fuller) Johnson and Beatrice (Fuller) Connelly.
He was raised in Attleboro, MA and soon after graduating from Attleboro High School he joined the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee and was instrumental and securing the island of Guam in the South Pacific Theater. After an honorable discharge from his military responsibility he returned to Attleboro and built and owned his own successful construction company. He was a long standing member of the Attleboro Rotary Club and spent many hours volunteering his time and resources to those of need in Attleboro.
In the late 1970’s he and his wife Millie bought a piece of property at 157 Point Hill Road in West Barnstable, MA where they built their “dream house” and resided for his last 33 years. One of his proudest moments was when his home was selected to be featured in a National Home and Gardening Magazine.
In addition to his wife of 74 years of marriage, he is survived by a son, John S. Fuller and his wife Maura of East Falmouth and a daughter, Jeanne A. Gresham of East Sandwich. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Bridget Marcato, Keely Plunkett, Caitlin Moonan, Kimberly Welty and Christopher Gresham and 8 grandchildren.
Visitation Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. at which time a Funeral Service will be held in the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA 02563. Interment with military honors rendered in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Cape Heritage Nursing Home 37 Route 6A Sandwich, MA or McCarthy Care Center 73 Service Road East Sandwich, MA 02537.
