

Loretta was born in Newmarket, New Hampshire on July 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Helen L. (Filion) Proulx.
Loretta attended the Newmarket schools and graduate from Sargent College of Boston University. She was a Physical Education teacher at Upper Cape Regional Vocational Technical High School for many years. After retiring from teaching, Loretta started a Christmas décor business, Christmas Shelves.
Beloved wife of James H. Sibson for 61 years, Loretta will be forever missed and loved by her husband and her daughters Joyce Sibson Dove and her husband James of Tallahassee, Florida and Jean Sangster and her husband William of Plymouth. Loretta also leaves her five loving grandchildren, Meghan Daigle and her husband Nick of Tallahassee, Florida, Robert Boudreau of Boston, Jaime Hoctor and her husband Shane of Sandwich, Charlie Bess and his wife Kristen of Sandwich, and John Bess of Warwick, Rhode Island, along with four great grandchildren. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews. Loretta was predeceased by her beloved brothers, Roger Proulx and Maurice Proulx.
Loretta will always be remembered as a devoted, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She spent many hours knitting hats and blankets not only for family and friends, but also to donate to infants in need. She enriched family with countless, wonderful memories.
Respected by all and loved by many, she cherished her family and wide circle of friends. Loretta enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, traveling the world (especially to Florida in the winter, and to Camp Wulamat in Bristol, New Hampshire during the summer), watching sporting events, and attending craft fairs. She amazed us all with her strength, grace and dignity until the very end of her life. She will be forever in our hearts and dearly missed by all.
Visiting hours will be held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home located at 154 Route 6A, Sandwich on Friday, November 18 from 5 – 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19 at 12:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, Sandwich. Burial will be private.
