

Louise was born September 24th, 1923 in East Islip, New York and was the daughter of Louis and Josephine Murdock.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Stuart “Spike” Velsor and by her daughter, Jean.
She leaves her son Paul (Karen) Velsor of Rochester, Minnesota and daughter Margaret (Richard) Staples of Prescott, Arizona and sister Marie Rogers of East Islip, New York, sister-in-law Helen Wetzstein of Logan, Iowa..
Another important part of Louise’s family were her grandchildren, Sarah, Philip, Chris and Sarah and her eight great grandchildren.
Raised in East Islip, New York, Louise moved to Sandwich with her husband in 1942, where she worked at various jobs and spent many years in customer service at the Sandwich Co-Operative Bank.
Throughout her years in Sandwich she was an avid volunteer beginning with World War II, when she was a USO helper and an air raid volunteer at the Sandwich Library. Louise was the treasurer at Saint John’s Church for over 40 years, and more recently was a volunteer at the Sandwich Food Pantry and the Heritage Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held Monday November 9th at Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 154 MA-6A, Sandwich, MA 02563 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday November 10th at 11:00am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 159 Main Street, in Sandwich. Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne
