

Mrs. Marion (Heaney) Basile, 95, of East Sandwich, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 in Hingham. She was the beloved wife of the late Colonel Anthony L. Basile, former Deputy Sherriff of Suffolk County.
Born in Boston, Marion was the daughter of the late Bernard and Catherine (Sullivan) Heaney. She was a true New Englander and spent most of her life on Cape Cod enjoying the beaches, gardening and her very healthy lifestyle. Marion was very proud of her Irish Heritage.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence Basile and his partner Clem Pepe of Boston, Matthew Basile and his wife Charlene of Danvers and Joanne Harrington and her husband Mark of Hanover. Also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph, Michael and John Basile of Danvers, Matthew Harrington of Boston, Leah Harrington Dexter and her husband Kyle of Milton, and Kelly Dedeo of NC. Marion was the sister of the late Kay Cain, the late Marguerite Keyes, the late Bernard and Jack Heaney, and the late Helen Ryerson.
A small Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:30AM in Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd., East Sandwich. Burial to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family on Wednesday from 9-10AM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich.
