Shirley was born and raised in Taunton, to the late John and Ann (Bouchard) Baptist. She worked for Texas Instruments for many years, before devoting herself to raising her family. In 1972, they moved to Sandwich, then retiring in 1992 to Pocasset before returning back to her family home in Sandwich to spend her last two years. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, and playing cards.
She is survived by her beloved daughters Brenda Reilly and her husband Peter and Cheryl Demeule and the husband Todd. She was the cherished grandmother of Morgan, Madison, and Matthew Reilly and Kacey and Tessa Demeule.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A Burial service will follow at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Road, East Sandwich, MA 02537.
