She was born on May 25, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Louise Johnson and Calixto Hernandez, who preceded her in death. Alicia was an only child to her mother but shared a meaningful bond with her half-sister, Ana Hernandez. She spent her entire life in the metro Atlanta area, a community she cherished and proudly called home.
Alicia dedicated 30 years of service to the Internal Revenue Service as a data analyst. Known for her diligence, integrity, and exceptional work ethic, she earned the respect of colleagues across her career. She retired in 2020 due to disability after becoming ill in September of that year.
Above all else, Alicia was a devoted mother. She was the proud parent of five children. Her eldest son, Martin, preceded her in death and is survived by his three children — Major, Maverick, and Madden — who brought immense joy into Alicia’s life. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Cassandra Montes-Mitchell and grandchildren Keantae and Karley; daughter Marie; son CJ; and daughter Kristin. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride, and her love for them was unconditional.
Alicia endured her final years with remarkable strength, grace, and resilience. Her family will forever hold close the memory of her warmth, humor, and the fierce love she shared so generously.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, perseverance, and devotion to family. Alicia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In accordance with her wishes, a private service for immediate family will be held on Monday December 1, 2025 at Arlington Cemetery.
