Annette Foster Brewer, 89, of Sandy Springs, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Halcyon Hospice of pneumonia. She was born on December 10, 1927. Annette will be fondly remembered for her fun-loving personality and southern hospitality. She never met a stranger and as she always said “I’d rather laugh than eat, Sugah”. Even though she struggled with dementia for several years, her manners and loving ways never faded. She was a native Atlantan who married and built a life with her childhood sweetheart, Jake Brewer, who passed away nearly 15 years ago. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Laveda Foster; sister, Norma Bachelor; and husband, Ernest Jesse “Jake” Brewer. She is survived by her children, Edmund and Sandy Brewer; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Paula Brewer; son and daughter-in-law, Lisa Friedman-Coletta; daughter, grandchildren Melissa Atlanta, Greg and Ashley Brewer, and Christin Friedman; a special great-grandson, Knox Jake Brewer; as well as many who knew and loved her dearly.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, January 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. Please join the family after the service for a celebration of Annette’s life at Harry Norman, Realtors office located at 4848 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30338.
