Billy G. Smith, 75 of Milledgeville, Ga., formerly of Marietta passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011. He lived in the Atlanta area for 40 years and owned Bill Smith Grading Co. in Norcross, Ga. until he retired. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.Billy was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Charlie Tillman and Laura Jamieson Smith and wife Carrlyn E. Smith. He is survived by wife Brenda Pittman Smith, son Jeffery Shannon (Edyta) Smith, granddaughter Maya of Marietta, daughter Laura (David) Walsh, granddaughters Cameron and Olivia., son Christopher (Nena) Brooks of Dublin Ga., sisters, Sandra (Robert) Landin of Marietta, and Diane Plott of Roswell, Ga., nephews Lance (Anne Marie) and Cadance Landin of Cornelius, N.C., and Christopher (Jeannette) Landin, Kiersten and Meaghan of Windsor, CA. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m followed by the funeral services at 2:00 p.m Thursday, September 22, 2011 at H.M. Patterson & Arlington chapel, 173 Allen RD, N.E. Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
