Carmen “Nilsa” Soto Cruz was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Carmen Nilsa was the mother of six children: Maria, Luis, Hector (may he rest in peace), John, Richard and Nilsa and the grandmother of eight: Jarvia, Jacob, Nicholas, Alana, Ariel, Francesca, Christopher and Claira.
Born in Puerto Rico to Felix and Consuelo. She leaves behind her siblings Blanca, Jerry, Nelson, Raquel, Al and Sonia and many nieces and nephews who she loved.
At just 15 years old, she made her way to New York City, where she embraced life in what her family fondly remembers as the “Silver City” of her youth and came to Atlanta at the "sunset" of her life.
Carmen Nilsa was a homemaker and sales woman who loved plants, flowers, nature, politics and the arts and of course family most of all.
May she rest in eternal peace with her son, her parents and her siblings.
Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, US, on April 21, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on April 21, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm.
