

Carole Smith Tomlinson, 78, of Sandy Springs, Georgia passed away in early December. She is survived by her husband John, her two sons Clark and Jack, her grandchildren William, Rose, and Louis-Arthur, and her brother Bob Smith.
Carole was born in June 1947 in New York City to Helma Hornung Smith and Romeyn Smith She grew up in Darien, Connecticut where her family often enjoyed their summers on Cape Cod. She often sailed in Cape Cod bay with her own sailboat.
After attending Wellesley College, her love of young children drove her to study education at Boston University. Later she graduated from the University of California with a Masters in Education, teaching for five years at the Bronxville School in Bronxville New York. She created the “Tomlinson Times” for 3rd graders to learn how to write.
She later moved to Atlanta with her husband and two children. While there she transitioned to sales and marketing, but returned to education where she helped teach children with special needs at Woodland Elementary.
Later in life she rediscovered a passion for the performing arts. Carole studied her craft with passion and intensity. She specialized as a professional voice over actress and teacher, working at Deborah Richards’ Studios and performing in several Georgia Lottery Commercials. Her last film role was in Every Last Drop, a comedy horror film.
Carole will be missed by all who knew her. Her vibrant and outgoing personality brought joy to everyone around her. They will carry her in their hearts wherever they go.
