Heidi was goodness, kindness, sweetness, earnest, loving...to many adjectives for this sweet lady.  You are what we all need to be like.  You taught us a lot about being kind and good to each other.  You were one of a kind.

My condolences to you. I worked with Heidi at Gulf Coast State College.  She was a joy to work with. You are in my heart and in my prayers.

There are no words that can really capture the person my baby sister Heidi was.  She was so many things all wrapped up in that wonderful smile and witty personality.  Devoted loving wife to her husband Ted, incredible mother to Nick and Devon willing to sacrifice for them without anyone even knowing how often or how much.  Any place Heidi worked was made better by how she made other people feel about themselves, always willing to help others even though she had a full plate of her own to deal with. A friend of mine once told me that God has a purpose for every person he allows on the planet.  He would say that you are indestructible until you have fulfilled that purpose.  We prayed that Heidi would have twenty more years for our sake, but her purpose was complete and it was time to get her well deserved rewards.  In heaven there is no time. That is for the mortal.  Heidi will never feel separated because in the absence of time everything is now.  No future and no past.  She will turn around and there we will all be.   In the blink of an eye.  The bible says that we are a vapor, here one moment and gone the next.  Heidi's vapor was way to short for us left behind.

After reading Heidi's obituary, I immediately struggled with what I was going to write for my guest post. I'm an engineer, not a writer  Heidi was a great writer and even wrote pieces for a future novel. I decided to read some of the other posts hoping for some inspiration. After reading the first post by Claudia, I smiled. When we were 19 and 20, Heidi and I stayed with Claudia's family (they were family friends of some of Heidi's German relatives) in Frankfurt for two weeks prior to leaving to backpack through Europe. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed experiencing Germany with someone our own age. Claudia left to study in Italy at about the same time we left for the rest of our trip. We got her contact information and planned to get together in Italy. When we made it to Florence we tried unsuccessfully to reach her through the Italian phone system (this was pre cell phones or email) and disappointedly headed out to tour Florence. While walking down the street we looked across and to our happy shock and surprise, saw Claudia walking across the other side. My first instinct after reading her post was I had to contact Heidi to share the happy memory. It then hit me that she was gone and I would never be able to do that again. My next thought was if I am feeling this hole, what are Ted, Nick and Devon feeling? I can't imagine how difficult this is for you all. We talked shortly before her passing and Heidi was at peace with everything except for her concern about her family. Her wish for you all was a long, happy and fulfilled life. I hope that your happy memories and her love can fill that hole and will pray for you all as you grieve her death. We will all miss her dearly. I will see you later my dear friend.

Heidi, 33 years ago I had holiday with you and your family in Beaufort and we have had a real great time. During my study-time in Italy we've lost contact. But once we met each other by chance in Florence / Italy at the Piazza della signoria. We have screamed so loud as we met us again. I never forgot the time that we've spent together. I' m heartbroken about your death and it makes me thoughtful. Unfortunately we could not speak and write any more. But I want to let you and your family know, that I will never forget you and your special character and smile. And also your mother Catherine is still on my mind.

I offer my deepest condolences to the entire family in the passing of Heidi.  Although I only knew her for a very short time, I felt like I've known her forever.  Her infectious smile will be missed. God rest her soul and may her memory be eternal.

God has a Wonderful Angel on board. Heidi you have the most infectious smile and sweetest laughter! I too was shocked of your condition. My only peace is that I know you are no longer suffering. I will keep Ted, Nick and Devon in my daily prayers for peace and understanding. I love you my sweet friend and will always have beautiful memories of our lunch talks together!

I will always have you in my heart, darling Heidi. You were the perfect wife, and moma to your family. You took care of your darling mother in law through out your entire married life..May your reward in heaven be great. You raised Devon and Nick to receive their college degrees. Your love for Ted, was like that of newly weds. But your faith in Christ was always 1st in your life. "And they'll know you are Christians by your love". She always walked in love, everyday. If she called you friend, Heidi was loyal to you.If you measured wealth by love, Heidi was the "richest woman in town". Life will not be the same without you.Till we meet again..cassy

Heidi, I'm just in shock!  You will be missed by all.  Your smile, your attitude,....you always cheered me up on my bad days!  Heaven gained a true angel when you left us.  I pray for comfort and peace for your sweet family as they mourn your passing.  I'm going to miss you my dear sweet friend.
