Charles Emmett Allen, Sr., 81, of Marietta, GA, passed away at home on October 8, 2015. He is survived by 4 sons, Charles Emmett Allen, Jr., Carson Wright Allen, Carter Graves Allen and Craig Murfee Allen; a decades long close friend, Ms. Stanley Boulee; and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased in 1997 by his wife, Mary Turner Murfee Allen of 36 years. Charles graduated from Brown High School in 1951, and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army as an officer in the Korean War. Charles spent over 50 years in the insurance industry as a leading producer in the Atlanta area. He was active in the community including the Boy Scouts Troop 212 Board of Directors, member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of the Atlanta Country Club. His measured political opinions were appreciated by all who knew him. The services will be graveside on Tuesday, October 13, at 11am at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt Vernon Hwy NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A reception will follow at the Atlanta Country Club.
