Mi bella amiga.  I am going to miss you forever.

Describing Charon as one of a kind would be an understatement. Her ability to see through anyone’s mask and cut through the noise was inspirational. She opened her homes (both near and far), fed me when I was hungry, and imparted wisdom. Her passing is nothing short of unbelievable. But her memory and impact on those that were lucky enough to have encountered her might is imperishable.  As we navigate this loss and search for the beaches in the forest, I can’t help but to think how lucky I am to have known Charon. For without her, we can guarantee we would be that much more naive.

Charon was a force of nature. We “met” and talked only once during a video call with her sister (my sister-in-law), Nikki. But what a conversation! She left an indelible mark in my memory with how vibrant, dynamic, alive, and in-the-moment she was. My heart goes out to her siblings, her children, and all  of her family and friends for this great loss. I know you will miss her terribly. But you will also be able to move forward carrying and cherishing the wonderful memories you made with her and knowing how much she loved you.

I met Charon when she was only 15, in Santiago, and later spent time with her at her home in New Jersey and Georgia. She always welcomed me with warmth and kindness. I held her in sincere regard. My heartfelt support goes out to Luis Andrés and his grown children, Andrés and Rosario, during this difficult time.

Querida Charito,

Hoy nos duele el alma al despedirte, pero también la llenamos de amor al recordarte. Aunque no podamos estar físicamente ahí, nuestras voces, pensamientos y corazones están contigo y con todos los que te aman.

Fuiste nuestra hermana mayor, nuestra guía, nuestra protectora. Siempre nos cuidaste con un amor inmenso, como solo tú sabías hacerlo. Nos diste ejemplo, cariño, y sobre todo, nos enseñaste el valor de estar unidos. Siempre deseaste que los hermanos estuviéramos cerca, apoyándonos, queriéndonos, y hoy más que nunca sentimos ese lazo que sembraste entre nosotros.

Nos consuela imaginarte en paz, rodeada de los que ya se fueron. Ahí estás, al lado de quienes más te quisieron —La Mamá, el Papá y los Tatas— todos sonriendo contigo en la presencia del Señor.

Algún día, cuando Dios lo decida, estaremos los cuatro hermanos juntos de nuevo, riendo, abrazándonos, como tú siempre quisiste. Y ese día llegará, al lado de nuestro Señor, donde no hay más despedidas.

Te amamos con el alma, te extrañamos con cada respiro, y te llevaremos siempre en el corazón.

Querida  Hermana. nada de lo que pueda decir en este momento expresara lo que siento.  agradesco a Andres que te puso al telefono y pudimos hablar . te dije que te queria y me dijiste que me querias tambien, con eso me quedo.  eso rescatare. tu ganas de luchar ya que cuando te dije que hiria a verte. dijiste que fuera  cuando estuvieras recuperada que ibas a luchar . pero la vida no nos dio tiempo .  pero Dios  sabe lo que llevamos en nuestros Corazones y eso es lo unico que importa. Charon had one of the most beautiful spirits I’ve ever known. She was warm, open, funny, and full of life. Every time I visited Rose in Atlanta and stayed with them, I felt completely at ease in their home because of her presence. She had this way of making you feel welcomed, like you belonged.

The three of us spent time talking, sharing meals, catching up on life. We gossiped about our time in Mexico, laughed about everything that had changed and everything that hadn’t. One of the things that stayed the same was Charon. Her spirit was this steady, glowing thing. She loved to give, to connect, to make the people around her feel seen and cared for.

One night she did a tarot reading for me. It was so special to experience that side of her, so intuitive and in tune with spirit. She made me feel understood, like she really wanted to help me make sense of where I was at.

I’ll always hold those moments close. I feel really lucky to have known her and to have felt her love. She was one of a kind, and I’ll carry her spirit with me.

Nuestra prima mayor, la con la risa más contagiosa, la que nos enseñó a todas las primas mujeres a ser fuertes e independientes. Siguiendo los pasos de su mamá, la Titi, nos dio el ejemplo de que todas podemos emprender, como olvidar la tienda chilemio.com…fue una visionaria, era lo máximo! Cuando viví fuera de Chile hubiese añorado haber tenido acceso a un par de negritas o súper ocho, papayas y unas copitas de pisco sour jiji. Esos años entendí la nostalgia de estar fuera de tu país y comprendí ese amor y conexión que siempre tuviste con chile. Por lejos fuiste la más chilena de todos, la que gozaba con todos los garabatos chilensis, comiendo una buena pichanga o subiéndose a la micro…. Y bueno en tu despedida de chile, ahí estuviste recordándonos eso… tal como se ve en la foto hay una micro atrás.. fue la única micro que pasó durante mucho rato.
Gracias Charon por enseñarnos a gozar la vida y a reír frente a todo! Gracias por dejarnos más unidos que nunca a todos los primos Bustamante. 
Te queremos mucho y te extrañaremos siempre.

Mi historia con Charo es muy cortita, pero se  lleno de muchísimo cariño en el poquito tiempo que compartimos,
una amistad y una química  increíble, es como que si nos conociéramos desde hace mucho tiempo, a pesar que sólo fue unos cuantos meses …
Un amigo me mandó esto: 
Encontrar verdaderos amigos en el camino de nuestra vida hace que valga la pena cada minuto compartido .

Tristemente, su viaje fue muy pronto… pero como todos los que la conocieron dejó como prueba una familia espectacularmente preciosa, como es Rosario y Andres que eran el corazón y alma de su vida y momentos especiales con todos los que tuvieron la suerte de cruzarse en su camino… lucky us♥️
A mi me sembró una semillita para que yo nunca me olvide de ella.
Una amistad corta, pero verdadera, ojalá hubiera durado un poquito más, siempre te recordaré con todo el cariño del mundo amiguita Charo.

Sending my loving thoughts and prayers to Charon's children. She loved you and those precious animals dearly. There was not a single day that went by wherein she did not speak of you both with the utmost pride. She told me how adventurous het baby girl was and how her baby boy took care of his mama and him her. I had the pleasure and honor of serving as Charon's manager for a few months at SouthStar. She would compliment in some way EVERY SINGLE DAY! She reminded me of how beautiful my spirit and energy were and that my energy reminded her of her daughters. She gave me the most thoughtful gifts and there did not need to be a special occasion,  but they were and will always be sentimental. There was not a kinder soul there. So full of life and eager to see and experience what life would bring her children,  I'm saddened she has transitioned. I regret I can't be there to celebrate her beautiful life, but I'll carry her always in my heart. Please keep her beautiful spirit alive. Blessings to her family as you grieve this tremendous loss.

My aunt was always supportive to me, a lovely godmother, and brutally honest in the best way possible. My childhood has a lot of lovely memories being around her and her kids, my cousins. I will cherish those memories always. 

As a kid, she had always made sure to always remind me "Don't go wacko" whenever I wanted to leave a family gathering such as dinner to play video games. At the time, it was like she was saying her catchphrase; I didn't realize that she wanted me to take breaks and engage in more meaningful activities. Over a summer vacation where I stayed at her house, she invited me and my brother Sebastian to a nearby pool every day. I was hard to budge sometimes but she always convinced me to go. In hindsight I truly think she wanted the best for me, and to help me grow up, and make healthy habits.

I love her and miss her very much and I do not think I could have asked for a better godmother.

Querida Charon:

Sabemos que en estos momentos te encuentras en un viaje especial. Seguramente ya te has reunido con tu amada madre, y estamos seguros de que desde ese lugar maravilloso estarás protegiendo a los tuyos, en especial a tus maravillosos hijos, Andresito y Charito.

Te recordamos con una foto que captura la alegría y la buena energía que siempre transmitiste. Tu sonrisa y tu amor por tu querido Chile eran contagiosos, y eso se reflejaba en todo lo que hacías, especialmente en tu empresa, Chilemio.com, donde compartiste un pedacito de tu país en Estados Unidos.

Te llevaremos siempre en nuestros corazones.

Siempre generosa, siempre preocupada de los demás. No me cabe duda de que dejaste una huella enorme en todos los que tuvimos la suerte de conocerte. Los recuerdos lindos, las risas compartidas, y ese cariño tan tuyo que nunca se va a olvidar.

Conocí a Charon cuando ella tenía 17 años nunca lo voy a olvidar en un retaurant en Reñaca junto a Andrés, sobresalía por su belleza y simpatía, una mujer muy cariñosa, bondadosa y amante de los animales, compartimos muchas historias en Chile, México y USA, dejaste una linda familia Charon, debes estar muy orgullosa de aquello un gran abrazo al cielo, nunca te olvidaré.

In loving memory of our classmate, Charon Lee Daily, we would like to share this class yearbook picture with her in our last year of high-school.

My sincere condolences to Charon’s family and friends. I was a classmate of Charon’s at Colegio San Pedro Nolasco in Santiago, Chile. Although we didn’t stay in touch, I was moved by the news of her passing, recalling the time we shared during high school. I was also heartened to read in her obituary that she lived a fulfilling life and surrounded by the love of her husband and children. May she rest in peace, and may you find comfort in the memories you shared.

Conocí a Charon cuando llegó al colegio San Pedro Nolasco, muy tímida, pero muy simpática. Nos hicimos buenos amigos, hasta que dejé Santiago. Pero siempre la recordé con mucho cariño y ahora quiero dar mis condolencias a su familia.

She will be missed and remembered for her light that can’t ever be distinguished! Love you & rest easy my friend! 🙏❤️✨
