Edward was born in Fairburn, GA to his loving parents June and Doug. He spent much of his childhood adventuring outdoors and learning to build and construct all manner of creations alongside his father, setting the foundation for many of Ed’s lifelong hobbies.
He graduated from West Georgia College with a business degree and began a lengthy and decorated career in sales, working in the lighting industry for the past several decades. His warm and affable demeanor propelled his trajectory as a highly respected colleague and leader in the field.
Adept at working with his hands since childhood, Ed and his father built a barn from the ground up, with an upstairs apartment that Ed lived in for many years. He was an extremely skilled craftsman with a finely honed visual sensibility. An avid rider, he enjoyed several prolific motorcycle trips over the course his adulthood. Ed loved spending time at the lake, where he enjoyed boating, swimming and various home projects. Above all, Ed loved his family. He was a dedicated son, husband and father who always went above and beyond to care for his loved ones. He led the charge on annual summer trips to Maine, where he was a doting uncle and brother-in-law to many in-laws, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Despite his tireless work ethic and busy career, he will be remembered as being ever present and loving for his children and family.
Ed was hardworking, unfailingly generous, warm, and kind with a quick and engaging sense of humor. He was an extremely optimistic and positive thinker, and his low-key, easygoing nature often belied his sharp intelligence and determination. He will be forever missed by his family and loved ones. You can join his family in honoring his legacy by telling those you love that you love them often, by petting a dog or two, and by savoring a sunset cruise if the opportunity presents itself.
