

Mr. Emmett Hall Sellars, 81, of Marietta, died Friday, April 23, 2010. He was a self made man; born on August 15, 1928, who rose from a poor childhood in Tifton, Georgia, to become Executive Vice President of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Sellars came from his hometown of Tifton, to attend the Woodrow Wilson College of Law and graduated in 1952. His association with Goodyear Tire and Rubber started in 1946. He started working there to help pay for law school, making it his career. His determination and drive, helped him rise to the top of the company. His work ethic made him a legend within Goodyear, only to stop working because of his health. During his forty year career with Goodyear Tire and Rubber, he became Class President of his Dale Carnegie Class of 1956-1957. He also attended Stanford University and NorthWestern University. Mr. Sellars retired from Goodyear in 1986 and founded E.H. Sellars Inc. Doing business as Goodyear Tire Centers. He opened Aotomotive Service Centers in East Cobb County, Georgia.
Mr. Sellers first love was his family. His survivors include; his wife, Louise B. Sellars; sons Michael and Timothy Sellars of Marietta, GA; daughter, Cathy Larsen of West Palm Beach, Fl;grandson, Timothey Shelton Sellars, Jr.; granddaughters, Christean Whitney and Holland Larsen.
He was the best Husband, Father, and Grandfather we could ever want to have. The Lord blessed us with “Our Rock”…”Papa”. We know you are with Jesus and will love you and deeply miss you…Papa…John 3:16.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Sellars will be conducted at, 1:00 o’clock, Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA, 30068.
