Frances Ann Erbrick of Sandy Springs, GA died peacefully on March 25th, 2025 at the age of 86 years. Fran was born and raised in Philadelphia. She attended Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls and later taught at Holy Innocents, where she met her husband of 63 years, Francis (Frank) Erbrick, who also worked at the school. While Frank and Fran would leave Philadelphia for California, New Jersey, and Atlanta, Fran never lost the characteristic nasal twang which always placed her as a native Philadelphian.
Fran was a crafty, creative, and generous person. An avid knitter, she made countless handmade baby blankets for the children’s hospital, and often gifted hats and scarves to friends and family. Never one to let anything go to waste, Fran used her leftover yarn to make and hand out small, practical items such as dish rags and luggage tassels.
Fran was easy to laugh and known for her fun-loving spirit. It was rare for her to miss a party or a get together, even if the gathering was a far distance. She showed up with a smile to her children’s and grandchildren’s events, performances, and graduations. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed treating her daughters and daughters-in-law—“her girls”—to special trips. No matter the distance, Fran was also among the first to show up for a friend or a family member in need.
Though Fran felt fortunate to have traveled the world, she was just as happy running errands with a friend. Her happiest moments were spent with loved ones, no matter where they were. She was quick to grab a camera and capture ordinary moments others might overlook, and in that small action created many lasting memories for those around her. Above all, Fran took pride in the people she surrounded herself with. She loved reminiscing and sharing a good story with others, a testament to how much she appreciated the everyday.
Fran was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Montanye. She is survived by her husband, Frank, and four children: Christopher Erbrick and wife Deborah of Hartwell, GA; Ann Marks and husband T.J. of Spartanburg, SC; Michael Erbrick and wife Vanessa of Atlanta, GA; and Matthew Erbrick and wife Melissa, of Cumming, GA. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as her sister-in-law and great friend, Agnes Kryst.
Receiving of friends will be held at H.M. Patterson and Son-Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, on Sunday, March 30th from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10 am at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Dr, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. The mass will be followed by an interment service at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Boyce L. Ansley School. The family wishes to thank Fran’s caregivers, whose care and compassion in Fran’s final years will always be remembered.
